Since when did you have a conscience? War, strife, betrayal, deceit are all that are on the Lamb's minds. Surely you should know that by looking at the fools in this country. Just let them loose and see what they'd do. They would pillage and loot our world acting as if they owned it.
-Dominia, to Elly

Dominia Yizkor (ドミニア・イズコール, dominia izukōru) is the Earth Element of the Elements team that was formed by Kahran Ramsus. Her confident, gruff personality masks a constant need to prove her worth to Solaris, her enemies, and the world.

Biography[]

Dominia is one of the only known survivors of the nation of Elru, which was destroyed by Id six years prior to the start of Xenogears. She was taken in by Kahran Ramsus, who was also at Elru when Id made his attack, and he pushed Karellen to enroll her at Solaris's Jugend Military Academy, where she became one of the Neo-Elements.

Dominia is a physical fighter, and has the ability to harness her emotions to amplify her existing strength.

Dominia pilots the humanoid gear Bladegash, which combines with the other three Element gears to form the massive G-Elements.

Xenogears[]

Dominia is assigned by Ramsus to pilot the Hecht on a mission to Nortune, the capital of the Kislev Empire under heavy escort. The mission was to ram the ship into the power-generation grid in Nortune's C-Block, which would destroy most of the country and leave the other half left inhabitable for centuries. This 'purge' of the Lambs in the area would free the Gatekeeper from their control.

The Hecht is intercepted over Nortune by Fei and Rico in their Gears, who defeat Dominia.

Later on, Fei's party began to search for Anima Relics, in order to transform their gears into Omnigears. When they locate the Anima Relic for Billy's gear, they encounter the four Elements, who are there to claim the relic in order to realize Ramsus's ambitions. Elly confronts Dominia, asking if she truly didn't care about the surface dwellers' plight, despite all of the Elements once being surface dwellers and knowing what it felt to be a 'have-not'.

The Elements battle against Elly, Fei, and Billy, both on foot and combined in their Gears, and are defeated. Dominia asks Elly if she is just trying to show off, or show mercy. Elly explains that some things are only felt by the weak, and that weakness does not make them servile, but kind. The Elements' weaknesses drew them together and gave them strength, Elly says, not the superiority they felt over others.[1]

Dominia appears in Merkava to convince Ramsus who pilots Karellen's Omnigear to stop him from fighting Fei while she pilots her gear Bladegash.

Her last appearance in the game is when Ramsus is taken to the Yggdrasil. Citan and the Elements convince him that his life has meaning.

Gameplay[]

As a boss character, Dominia is not shown wielding a weapon, but she is able to form a light sword with her right palm to slash her opponent with two slashes. Dominia is an excellent fencer, only rivaled Ramsus in terms of swordplay during boss battles.

Dominia's Gear is the sword-wielding Bladegash, paralleling Dominia's on-foot combat abilities. The Gear is able to form a light sword and to charge itself in each of the four elements, as well as counterattack its opponent for extensive damage. Its charging ability rivals the Gear Brigandier's Ether abilities, which can also charge in each four elements, but does not have the counterattack ability like she has.

Dominia will be fought once along with fellow elements, Kelvena, Tolone and Seraphita at the start of Disc 2.

Etymology[]

Dominia's name is derived from Dominion, a type of angel.

Her surname Yizkor is Hebrew for "remembrance". It is also a traditional Jewish ritual prayer for the deceased, which could be notable as Dominia is an orphan who lost her parents.

Quotes[]

  • I was a surface dweller myself, but I'm going to purge the -Lambs-. I want you, the Shepherds, -Abel-, to see with your own eyes what I can do.
  • "To me -Lambs- and -Abel- are the same. The only definite difference is personal ability. The ignorant must be led by the wise. That is our job."
  • "That Gear, you're the one? Hah! So that's how it is. How amusing. Elhaym. All this for a man? I guess that story was true after all. You were born of those lowly Lambs."
  • "I have no intentions of discussing this matter further with you! Your traitorous actions are already apparent! I will beat you down right here!"

Trivia[]

  • Leftover data accessible though debugging suggests Dominia was supposed to be a playable character during a certain stage of development.
  • Noctis Lucis Caelum, the main character from Final Fantasy XV and a third playable guest character in Tekken 7, can summon his primary weapon Engine Blade to slash his opponents in all of his special attacks and combos, mirroring Dominia's way of summoning her light sword to attack her opponents.
  • Dominia bears many similarities to Tyrea, from Xenoblade Chronicles.

  1. ELLY: "Some things only the weak can feel... But weakness does not make them servile. It's because they are weak, that they can develop kindness... and never look down on people. That is where real human interaction comes from. Everyone has weaknesses. Even you did at first. Your weakness drew you to each other... And made you grow strong. Never forget those feelings. When you all lived together side by side..."
