Miktam04β is a planet that appears deep within in the Xenogears timeline, only being mentioned in Perfect Works. Located in the galaxy NGC 6744 in the Miktam star system, it was in the process of being terraformed. Immigrants were housed on colonies stationed on geostationary satellites.[1]
History[]
Abel makes contact.
In 4767, a series of top-secret tests were being conducted on the Zohar and the superweapon Deus. It was during one of these tests that a young boy named Abel made 'contact' with the Wave Existence, a hyper dimensional being that had become trapped within the Zohar Modifier.[2]
At some point after this, Deus went out of control and invaded the nearby colony, resulting in innumerable causalities. After the military intervened and managed to place Deus in suspended animation at the cost of many more lives, it was dismantled into several parts and sealed.
The Eldridge was requisitioned for the use of transporting Deus's separated cores, as well as the 1.2 million survivors, including Abel, to another planet for investigation as to what caused the incident. The ship would later crash onto an unnamed planet, starting the events of Xenogears.[3]
Etymology[]
Miktam is a reference to a word of unknown meaning found in the Hebrew Bible, specifically Psalms 16 and 56–60.

Miktam has a parallel equivalent in the Xenosaga timeline, called Michtam.
