Stage of Death (Japanese: 死の舞踏; romaji: Shi no Butou; lit. Dance of Death) is a track on the Xenogears Original Soundtrack, composed by Yasunori Mitsuda. It is played during non-boss battles and random encounters.
The original song title is a reference to the Late Middle Age artistic genre Danse Macabre. Many classical pieces are also named after this, with the most notable being the symphonic poem composed by Camille Saint-Saëns in 1874.
