I know it isn't "as official" as something like PW, but I think the only official source that outright states that Melchior is demi-human is the officially licensed 4-koma on page 95. Though, I mean given what all we know about the XG planet what else would he be, yknow? All sapient (or semi-sapient) species on this planet came about through either Kadomony (regular humans) or experiments (demi-humans, wels), including many enemy types that PW describes in detail as being either a wels (Death Scythe), demi-humans (Forest Elf), or a separate ethnic group of humans (Shady). From what all PW tells us about all of these species, it was a previously uninhabited planet (not talking normal animals or dragons ofc), populated by Kadomony humans which gave rise to the Zeboim culture who were doing their own experiments long before Karellen; after nuclear war wiped most of them out their experiments escaped the facilities and this is where the Chu-Chupolins came from. Very likely this is also where the form of demi-human that Melchior is came from (considering the fact that Melchior was Karellen's teacher in 9500- before Karellen started his own experiments leading to more variations of demi-humans and wels we see in-game in episode 5). idk if any of this changes anyone's perspective, I just figured it was worth mentioning, considering the page doesn't say much about these "unconfirmed fan theories" or all of the supporting evidence when taking all of PW into consideration 🤷‍♀️ Linnaealyn (talk) 22:52, 11 December 2024 (UTC)

Yeah, sometimes it gets hard to really determine where something comes from in a fandom this old, so it's hard to figure out whether to cut something out entirely, just add a [cite] tag (not sure if those show up on mobile), or go 'huh, maybe it's a fan theory since I can't find mention of it'. Thankfully, like with Emerald's last names, we can edit stuff out with correct info. Thanks for digging! I'll add it on. ETA: Off-topic: in doing some digging, I found the translator's website, and their website is so nostalgic and still being updated! I miss seeing hand-coded sites like that.
